Primal 7 Movement Accountability Group

Primal 7 Zoom Call

We know some people miss gyms but frankly, we think exercising at home is great. We can wear whatever we want, listen to music without headphones, and are safe from other people’s sweat, stares, stank, and germs.

There is one challenge we’ve faced though: since we can technically exercise at home “any time”, some days we put it off until later and later and then never actually get it done. And if we miss one day, it’s easier to miss the day after that and the day after that.

To get back on track – and stay on track – we’re trying something new: a Movement Accountability Group!

Essentially, it is a 30-minute Zoom call dedicated to moving our bodies. You can join in and do whatever movement or exercise you want. No camera or audio required.  The goal is simply to help you set time aside to move and provide accountability so you stick to it.

Our resident physical therapist, Jenna Ellis, will be on the calls doing part one of the Knee Pain Relief Program and week one of our Foundations Program. She’ll have a timer running and will let everyone know when the 30 minutes are up. After that, you can join her in a quick chat or just log off.

The next group will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 11:30 AM CST. It is open to anyone but spots are limited, so please RSVP if you want to participate.

 Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Do I need to have my camera on for this?
No. We would love to see your faces but we think it’s more important that everyone feels comfortable. Feel free to keep your camera off for part or all of the call. Or, keep it on. Whatever feels right for you.

  • How much does this cost?
    It’s free.

  • Wednesday at 11:30 AM CST doesn’t work for me. Is there another time slot?
Not yet but there may be in the future. If you love the idea but can’t make this work, let us know what day and time work for you. If we get enough requests, we’ll start more groups.

  • Is this a class?
No. This group is focused on blocking time, not instruction. Jenna will be doing a Knee Pain Relief Routine and a Foundations routine but you should do whatever your body needs. If you’re looking for guidance, you can choose one of our follow-along routines and do it while on the Zoom call. Your mic will be off during the 30 minutes of movement, so no need to worry about noise.

  • What can I do to prepare?
Block out the time on your calendar, download Zoom (it’s free), and decide how you want to use your thirty minutes of movement. If you plan to try out a follow-along routine that you’ve never done before, we recommend you watch its instructional video and try out the movements beforehand. This way you can “show up” ready to move. Along the same lines, it’d be great if you can set up your space before the call starts – hang up your Primal 7 system, unroll your exercise mat, or simply clear the space you’ll need to move comfortably.

  • Thirty minutes feels like a lot. Do I need to move for all of it?
No. This is your time and how to use it is entirely up to you. Some people may want to fill it with non-stop movement but maybe you just want to do one ten-minute routine, followed by some light stretching and/or meditation? Or maybe you want to do two ten-minute routines with a ten-minute break in between? Listen to your body, do what feels right.
